STREET STYLE: 7/9/10 Lady Gaga's Monster Ball

So, this woman was sitting in front of my friend Ryan and I. We kept saying that her bra-tastic outfit looked much better than most of the get-ups that lacked shirts. Instead of looking like a hooker and choosing to wear a micro-mini that, if she was wearing a tampon, the string would be longer than the skirt (lol I wonder how many followers I just lost due to that line…) or itty bitty shorts that would normally be worn as panties, the trousers looked much more Gaga-esque (ala the “Lovegame” video). Instead of suspenders, the vest retained the Gaga vibe, but was much more public-appropriate. To keep with the “Lovegame” theme, the bra was leopard, just like Gaga’s. Her bracelet was killer, as well. Both my mom and I were admiring it all night!

My interview with the lovely Cassie from New York Couture

While running around in search of my favorite bands and a way to stay cool in the 90 degree heat, I was lucky enough to score a little interview with Cassie, the founder of New York Couture.
In the middle of all things fashion, the little engine that could, known as New York Couture, is in the midst of becoming a high-power steam-engine. New York Couture, which started out in the public eye as what was worn by Cassie’s internet sensation friends (and still is, ala Raquel Reed and Jefree Star), can now be seen in Alternative Press, Glamour Magazine, Elle, Nylon, and many more. Did I mention that the always fabulous Katy Perry has started wearing NYC quite often? She sure has. Just look at what she wore at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City:

Well, enough of my rant on how fantastic New York Couture is, here comes the interview!
Q-How did you get your start in fashion?
Cassie- I’ve always liked being different. Like in Elementary School, I wore bell bottoms, which weren’t in style. They were my hippie-mom’s! Kids looked at me like, “What the fuck is she wearing?!”
Q- How would you describe your personal style?
Cassie- Um…I don’t really know. (Motions to her friend who was sitting next to her) How would you describe my style?
Cassie’s Friend- Crazy!
Cassie- Apparently, crazy! Ha, I guess I could describe my style as “I don’t give a fuck!” Yeah, that’s definitely the best way to describe my style! I don’t give a fuck!
Clearly, New York Couture is going places. Who knows, maybe at this rate, Ms. Lady Gaga could be seen sporting New York Couture’s Vegas Shorts or a Chain-print Onesie Jumper!
